Awnings Direct was founded in 2007 in Auckland by Steve, who brought a strong technical background in mechanical engineering to the New Zealand outdoor shading industry.
Having lived and worked across Europe and Mexico, Steve observed how diverse cultures master outdoor living through functional, weather-resilient architecture. He recognized an opportunity to bring tailored, high-grade European-style shading engineering to Kiwi homes and businesses at fair, accessible rates.
